Call Me Ang: Feeling Blue

Feeling Blue

This look is what I call my "Mom Uniform".  I will throw on a cardigan, tee, scarf and jeans to run errands. I look put together, yet I'm still comfortable.

I love Navy - it is probably my favorite color. Navy is a great neutral. You can pair it with black, camel, white, green, red, yellow, pinks, etc.

Last week I did a little end of season shopping. I stalked the clearance racks (in an actual mall...gasp) in search of wardrobe staples for next Winter.  We are still dealing with cold temperatures, so I was able to wear some of these pieces now.

This scarf is fantastic! The moment I saw it, I knew it needed to be in my closet.  Scarves are great accessories. Not to mention they are practical. They instantly add a little style to even the most basic outfit.

I don't fix my hair daily.  I've been battling acute anemia for several years. I receive routine iron infusions to keep my hemaglobin levels stabilized. This health issue has caused my hair to become fragile and brittle. The less I do to my hair, the better.  I air dry my hair on most days. Usually going to bed with my hair wet. Naturally, it's a frizzy mess when I wake. So....I throw it on-top of my head. The top-knot is probably the best thing that has happened to hair trends in a long time.  I'll be rockin' my top-knot for as long as I can.

I love this tote. I've been carrying it for about a year and it has held up very well. My only regret is that I had it naturally embossed. I wish I had gone with the gold foil option. My Monogram doesn't "pop".  I was going for subtle....but this may be too subtle.

I'm usually a high-brow denim girl. However, I've been buying a lot of Old Navy jeans lately and while the verdict is still out on quality...So far I'm impressed with this bargain denim!

Cardigans are so easy to throw on over your favorite tee. They can be worn with skirts, shorts and jeans.

I used to wear a lot of knee high boots. I found that they were not as flattering on my figure, as booties. My legs are larger and booties give me a little more length to my leg in jeans. This is my favorite pair  - I adore the tall wooden heel.

I generally throw on pearl earrings everyday. They are elegant, simple and refined.

  1. Another cute outfit, but honestly, you could put on a sack and still look great!

  2. Goodness do I love navy too! I used to have my clothes arranged by color in my closet... I can honestly say that my wardrobe is comprised of at least 50-60% navy-colored pieces/navy-heavy prints. I've loved it ever since I was a child.

I may need to give booties another try... I've always felt like an elf in them, but maybe I just need to try-on more options. Thinking I'll scour the sale racks for a pair for next year... I've already had to break-out the sandals.

  3. I still struggle with acute anemia as well. I made the mistake of cutting my hair shorter than can fit in a topknot so I'm having to use hair elastics and those are so bad. It's growing tho and should be back to topknot stage within a month or 2.
