Call Me Ang: Denim and Dots

Denim and Dots

Monday, March 2, 2015

I haven't given up hope for warmer temps arriving soon.  The last of our snow melted this morning, we are up to a balmy 45! With that said, I threw together a transitional weather outfit to share with you. I'm looking forward to wearing shorts and feeling the sunshine on my face...Who's with me?

Dotted Shorts, Chambray Shirt, Rayban Sunglasses, Tory Burch Bag, Black, Heels

Bag | Shorts (On Sale) | Shirt (On sale) | Shoes | Earrings | Bracelets
Sunglasses | Lip Color (Blue Raspberry)

This bag is incredibly versatile and a great alternative to a price gouging Chanel.  You can wear the bag on your shoulder or as a cross body (demonstrated in photos above). This shirt is old, but is still in the stores.  The shorts, I purchased last week and blogged about as well.  I've had my sunglasses for almost ten years.....TEN years people.  Don't let anyone tell you that Ray-Ban doesn't make quality products. Although, the frames I have on, were made in Italy. Now I'm finding that some of the newer frames are made in China.

I really love simplistic looks. You won't find me wearing a lot of accessories (or makeup).  As Coco Chanel once said, "Before you leave the house, look in the mirror and remove one accessory." Today, this could have applied to my bracelets. Two would have been sufficient. Three is too many.

If I were going to be out into the evening, I would bring a crewneck sweater to layer over my shirt.  Maybe a red, or bright pink to bring some color to the outfit.

I'll be the first to say, my legs are in no shape to be wearing shorts right now...In-fact, I hear a treadmill calling my name, so I'm going to wrap this up.  Keeping it real folks!

  1. I love love love those shorts, but I can never figure out where all these fashion bloggers are going when they pair shorts with heels. I always feel like if it's somewhere nice enough for heels, shorts look too casual... and if it's somewhere that I want to wear shorts, I'm probably walking there and will be on my feet for several hours, so I have no desire to wear heels.

    1. I would wear this out to a casual dinner with my husband or a girl's night out...The shorts are dressier. You can't tell in the photo, but they have a side zip, no pockets, pleats and are made of a basketweave fabric. Oddly enough, I feel more comfortable wearing shorts with heels, than I do in a sandal-type wedge. Try it...step out of your comfort zone. ha!

    2. Ha! City living means we walk everywhere, so dinner with my husband is likely a 2-3 mile walk each way. I definitely do not have the coordination/built up calluses to allow me to walk 4-6 miles in heels that height without slowing down my husband to a near crawl. :)

  2. I can attest to the quality of these sunglasses as well! I have the same pair and they have certainly held-up! I get asked about them almost every time I wear them... I love the "less-severe-teardrop" shape of the Cockpit model.
