Call Me Ang: Bedding

Bedding

Today I'm going to give you a glimpse into my unfinished master bedroom.  I go back and forth on what art to place above our bed.  I wanted to keep the room in whites and beige....However, we have a beautiful cherry blossom painting by artist, Patricia Baker.  This painting is my absolute favorite. I've considered having the canvas framed and placing it above our bed.

If I go this route, I feel as though I will need to incorporate a pop of pink on the bed, (as well as other areas of the room).  Which has me veering away with my original idea of a natural solid white/beige theme.

I'm reminding myself that home decor should be organic. If you fill your home with items you love, everything else will fall into place.

I love the bright crisp feel of white sheets.  In fact, you won't find colored linens on our bed - ever.

One thing that drives me bananas about our linen duvet, is that it always appears wrinkled.  However, as far as fabric is concerned, there is nothing more natural and soothing.  It's a light breezy fabric, yet always refined.

I have never met a monogram I didn't like.  Naturally, I had to personalize our shams.  Since my husband and I both have "A" names, we have a perfectly balanced monogram...If I do say so myself.

Our furniture is very rustic.  This was a compromise nearly seven years ago.  Pottery Barn still carries the collection. My husband prefers matching furniture....I wanted an upholstered headboard and hollywood glam feel. Safe to say, my husband won that battle.

Yes, I know...I need to hang something on the wall. We've only lived here for two years.......

This is the baby boy of the family, Ollie Doodle...and this is his bed, just as much as it is ours.

They say your master bedroom should feel like a retreat.  While our bed is a true comfort zone, this unfinished room still has a lot of work. Is your master bedroom your sanctuary?

  4. I would go for the painting that you love. For pink accent, it can be flowers even. It doesn't necessarily need to be something big, in my opinion.
